Quality, safety and security
Lorient South Brittany Airport is ISO 9001 certified and is audited annually by an independent certification body.
The passengers are subject to security measures in accordance with the regulations.
Items prohibited on board
Scissors, knives or objects which by their appearance resemble a weapon are strictly prohibited on aircraft, either on the passengers themselves or in their hand luggage.
According to regulations, any object removed the security check will be destroyed. You have however the possibility of putting your knives in your checked luggage.
Lithium ion batteries in the aircraft cabin
For safety reasons, the Lithium ion batteries carry is regulated. Passengers must keep their Lithium ion batteries abord the aircraft, including their replacement batteries.
Regulation on Liquids, aerosols and gels
The carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels into the security restricted area of an airport and onboard aircraft is controlled in accordance with current EU Security Requirements.
Liquids in hand baggage
When passing through airport security screening:
- Liquids carried must be in a container of no more than 100ml (3.4 ounces)
- All liquids should be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of up to 20cm x 20cm with a total capacity of up to a litre.
- You must be able to completely close the bag and be able to fit it in your hand baggage
- The bag of liquids must be taken out of other hand baggage to be screened separately
Baby food and milk
If you are travelling with an infant you are allowed to carry as much baby milk, powdered milk, sterilised water and baby food as required for your flight, even if this exceeds the usual limit on liquids. These do not need to fit in the transparent bag but you should have them ready for inspection by airport security.
You are allowed to carry liquid medicine as required for your flight. The medicine does not need to fit in the transparent bag but you should have it ready for inspection by airport security.
Since the implementation of the plan "Vigipirate" in France and similar measures taken by the governments of other countries, security controls are multiplied. You may be asked repeatedly to submit an identification document. Further, random inspections may also take place on your luggage.
Hand Luggage/Cabin Baggage
You can carry one cabin bag with maximum plus 1 small bag onboard the aircraft (size & weight can be different according to the airlines you’re travelling on).
It is recommanded to label your luggages inside and out with your name, destination address, email address and mobile number.
